Not sure I am in the right place, but I have a general law question. Are there any states that currently allow cottage food operators to prep baked goods in a commercial/shared kitchen under the same license?

The IDPH guide states that…
“Cottage food operations are home-based food businesses conducted by a person who produces food or drink, other than foods and drinks listed as prohibited by Illinois law, in a kitchen located in that person’s primary domestic residence or another appropriately designed kitchen on a farm.”

Yes, there are many states that allow a cottage food business to use a commercial kitchen. I don’t have an easy way to show states that allow it, but here is a list of the states that DON’T allow a cottage food business to use a commercial kitchen: https://forrager.com/laws/?limitations=commercial-kitchen-prohibited
All of the other states do allow it.
