Arkansas’ cottage food law doesn’t allow spices. You need to use a commercial kitchen to produce them. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

Yes, you can sell homemade spices in Utah (at home, at craft fairs, and online), but you cannot sell them interstate. So you could use eBay or Etsy as long as you only sell to buyers in Utah. Otherwise, you need to use a commercial kitchen. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

Well, certainly the easiest solution would be to place something around the kitchen that would block the cat from accessing it.
I’m not sure if it would be possible to do what you’re describing with a cottage food license. You could call the health dept to see if they allow a non-primary kitchen to be used with the law.

Rebecca, in that case I assume that relish and sauerkraut are also never allowed? Are there any other non-refrigerated, non-meat items that are always prohibited?
