Hi there,
It's finally here! I just launched
The Forrager Podcast.
Have you ever started a project and thought, "This will probably take X hours to do", and then it takes ten times longer than that? Yeah, that's basically what happened to me! All of the little pieces really added up, but at least, now it's done and ready to go.
This is kind of a soft launch, because it's only one episode right now, and that episode is just me. Every other episode will be an interview with a cottage food business owner.
I've already interviewed a couple CFOs for episodes #2 and #3 (they're not live yet), and I think you're going to love them. Each entrepreneur and story is so different from the next.
For the first episode,
How To Start A Cottage Food Business From Your Home Kitchen, I covered the basics of the cottage food industry, including my own background in this industry, and focused on the process of validating your business idea.
So how can you listen to the podcast? There are two main ways to listen:
1. On the website
You can listen directly on Forrager -- episodes are listed here:
forrager.com/podcast. Here is a
link to the first episode.
2. Using a podcast app
If you're unfamiliar to podcasting, most people prefer listening to podcasts with a podcast app, like Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, etc. That makes it very easy to listen on a smartphone, although you can also use a computer.
For instance, if you have an iPhone, you'll probably use Apple Podcasts. I have an Android phone and I use Google Podcasts. If you listen to music on Spotify, then you'll probably use that to listen to the podcast.
Go to the
podcast homepage on Forrager, and you should see a set of app icons below the description. Those are links to this show on some of the most popular podcast apps. If you subscribe to this show through an app, you'll get notified when I add new episodes.
Just reply to this email and let me know if you have any questions about listening to the podcast, and I'll try to help.
Also, please let me know if you have any feedback! What did you think of the first episode? Any honest feedback, whether it's positive or negative, is welcome.
David
P.S. I'm aiming to publish Episode #2 next week. I talked with Lauren for 1.5 hours, so I have some editing to do to get it down to a reasonable length! Lauren's run a cottage food business for
17 years, so as you can imagine, she had a ton of great info to share.
