There’s still no information on the ag dept’s webpage that says you can or can’t sell homemade extracts. I’d recommend reaching out to them and they will likely have an answer: https://agr.georgia.gov/cottage-foods.aspx

That’s awesome! An amazing opportunity for sure. Unfortunately you won’t be able to use your home kitchen to produce the cupcakes. But you’re in the fortunate position of having a commercial kitchen at your disposal! Come to an agreement with the restaurant owner, perhaps using the kitchen in off hours. You will need to get a permit from the…[Read more]

Hi, I live in Atlanta and want to start a home based cupcake business. I’m a little confused. I can’t use cream cheese but can I use buttercream for my frosting? I may need to put cakes in the fridge before delivery but I don’t need cakes to be permanently refrigerated. Is buttercream frostings allowed.

I’m considering baking bread for subscription sale and some of the shares would be delivered by a CSA (ie. I would not be the one delivering them). Under the 2018 revisions it seems like that would be fine (it’s still a direct delivery and not at a store or restaurant) but would love some feedback. Thanks!

Yes, buttercream frostings should be allowed, as far as I can tell!
