Hi there,
This week,
my podcast guest surprised me.
On the surface,
it looked like her business was doing very well: she's been running it for 6+ years, she has a nice ecommerce website with an extensive menu, and she has hundreds of social media followers.
But once we got into the interview, I realized that
things weren't exactly as they appeared.
And kudos to Tiliwannia for not sugarcoating anything. She was honest about how
her business has been a struggle: a struggle to find time, a struggle to find sales, and sometimes a struggle to keep going.
Has it ever felt like
life tries to get in the way of your business? Then you can relate to this.
This episode has a
different tone and feel that most others. But I still think there are some important takeaways.
After the interview, I had a thought: "
Maybe I should have turned this into an impromptu coaching call. We could have explored potential solutions to her problems."
I generally wouldn't be inclined to take a coaching role on an episode. As you may have noticed, I always try to get out of the way and let the guest (and their experience/insight) take center stage.
But in this unique case, maybe it would have been helpful.
What do you think? Do you like the episode as-is? Or should I have tried turning it into something more?
