Hi there,

Last weekend, my family took a vacation to Lake Tahoe. It was actually our first trip as a family of 4 that was just for us -- our other trips this year were to see family and friends (and letting them meet baby Sierra!).

It was fun, but I made the mistake of not having this week's podcast episode ready before the trip. I was running a little behind, to say the least!

And I kid you not, basically every time I would sit down to keep editing the podcast, something would interrupt me within a minute: Ray would wake up from his nap, or Sierra would start crying, or one of them would need a diaper change, etc etc.

If you've had young kids, I'm sure you can relate! But much like this week's podcast guests, I didn't give up, and somehow I managed to release the episode on-time!

But truthfully, my story of persistence pales in comparison to the stories on this week's episode. For instance, by the time I published the episode:
Trust me when I say that you are going to love this episode!

You know those kettle corn vendors you see at fairs that pump out mass quantities of popcorn, and make it live on-site? That's what Payshee and Steve now do (except in a not-so-generic way).

But they didn't start that way. They actually used their cottage food law to prepackage dozens of bags of homemade popcorn for their local farmers market each week.

And they did that from home for two years before they were ready to make the leap to some pretty-pricey equipment for popping tons of popcorn live at events.

They have gone from making just a few hundred dollars each weekend, to now selling over $5k of popcorn in a weekend!

Initially, Payshee romanticized her vision for the business, imagining herself custom-flavoring each bag for a customer in real-time, and serving it from a Cretors wagon.

That idealistic vision not only delayed their business, but also cost them a pretty-penny before they realized that they should just keep it simple and start from home.

Regardless of whether or not you want to sell popcorn, there's a lot to learn from this episode!
