Just wondering if anyone has any advice on selling baked goods at local flea/farmer’s markets? I know that produce sells pretty well, but I’ve not seen a lot of baked goods (not here in AK anyways). Kathleen, it depends on your state, but if the state only allows direct sales, the likelihood is that you cannot offer CFO products. CFOs are often explicitly not food facilities, and food facilities cannot offer their products for sale. David, Do you know which states have laws permitting low sugar jams, jellies, preserves? Thanks, Joanne Littau
Joanne, off the top of my head, I don’t know of any that specifically allow jams and jellies that do not fall under Part 150 of CFR Title 21. Maybe Wisconsin? Their law is pretty loose when it comes to canned goods. Of course, there’s always Wyoming, which allows almost anything.
