Kathleen, it depends on your state, but if the state only allows direct sales, the likelihood is that you cannot offer CFO products. CFOs are often explicitly not food facilities, and food facilities cannot offer their products for sale. David, I can assure you that most (if not all) of the CFOs in LA County have not had to spend $1,000+ on a business license. You can ask your health dept if you need a business license, but regardless, a business license should be a fairly simple process that shouldn’t cost more than a couple hundred for a small business.

I think getting noticed is hard for any new business. Something that I struggle with is talking up my product at every spare moment, with whomever I meet, and doing so in a way that comes off as authentic and not awkward. Have you found some of your marketing efforts to be successful?
