What is the best way to package scones to ensure the longest freshness without getting soft or too hard? In plastic? In a box similar to a donut box?

I see home kitchens most often listed for food prep. What about garages for roasting coffee? Roasted in the garage and packaged in the kitchen?

Often a garage, similar to an outbuilding, is not considered part of the home kitchen, but some areas aren’t very strict about that. It really depends on the local regulatory agency and what they decide to allow. I would expect your state of Idaho to be much less strict about it, overall.
