Debra, any cottage food bakery would be considered a business. Usually you don’t need to get an EIN unless you have employees. You don’t need to pay extra for a DBA if you use your own name, but you still might have to get a business license. And yes you can request an ID number from the ag dept to put on your labels.

I live in Oregon, and I have a question about being a cottage bakery.
Now if you’re say you’re a cottage bakery and you’re working from home, therefore you would not be considered a business would you?

I’m trying to find a venue in portland that will allow a Pittsburgh Cookie table. It’s a tradition where families make homemade cookies to swap with eachother. I am wondering how to change my profile picture. This is from a blog that I do, but not related to my food business at all. (I guess the dollar sign could be, but it stood for kidfrugal…how to have a frugal children’s ministry.) I let the fields automatically populate when I opened my account. Now I can’t change this picture.

Yes WordPress automatically pulls an image if it can. You can change it by going to the Profile tab, then clicking Change Profile Picture.
