They are separate, so you can make $40k total. And please note that the $20k for farm direct is only for acidified foods, like pickles and salsas. There is no limit for other things you sell under the farm direct bill.

Hi, I am looking into shipping peanut brittle and found that shipping charges to be quite expensive (almost more than the product itself. lol) via USPS priority service. If you ship your product, what method do you use? do you like it? Any receommedations? Thank you.

I have a question about selling pickles at my local farmers market on the Big Island – after looking at the food that’s prohibited ( sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles?!) What are the most current (2021 ) allowed foods and if pickles are not included why not? I use a 5% vinegar which is the recommended strength even for commercial manufacturing
As far as I know, the rules for Hawaii haven’t changed recently. The reason many states don’t allow canned foods is due to botulism concerns, which could potentially be deadly. I’ve shipped my fudge and I do use USPS flat rate boxes. I don’t do this as part of my business, since CA doesn’t allow shipping, so my experience is limited and I haven’t tried to optimize the process much.
