We discovered this website through the article in Sept/Oct 2015 issue of GRIT.
I would like to recruit other Texas residents who are willing to interested and willing to work together to champion significant revisions to the Texas CFL during the 2017 session of the Texas Legislature. If you are interested (and have some hot-button issues) about the Texas CFL, feel free to contact us by email at BerryRidge@copper.net.
My wife Anita and I retired from our 40+ year corporate careers to a 10-acre property in Robertson County (between Hearne and Bryan). We have been selling vegetables at the Brazos Valley Farmers’ Market in Bryan while starting a orchard (peaches, plums, pears, apples, and pecans).
As our crops increase, we had expected to be able to convert what we did not sell in the fresh market to “value added” products (such as pickled beets, peppers, etc.) that are not permitted by the current Texas version of CFL. We were totally shocked when we discovered the financial hurdles Texas (and apparently a few individuals) impose on production and sale of products than our grandmothers made for decades.
If you are not yet aware of the cost just to take the “approved” acidified food course or to get each recipe “approved”, we would like to help you become more aware, and possibly more energized to work for more rational regulations.
