Cottage Oven started the topic Inexpensive pre-printed labels? in the forum Packaging & Labeling 5 years, 9 months ago
Do any of you, out there, know of any sources for pre-printed product labels that aren’t massively more expensive than just using your own laser printer and sheets of blank labels? I’d like to have a bunch of product labels all ready to go without having to print them every time, but extra toner, etc., but the sources I have checked all seem to…[Read more]

I don’t see anything in the Illinois Cottage Food Law relating hand washing and packaging.
The hand washing is for food sampling which is a separate issue from packaging. The sampling rules mention
“pre-packaged” food items that will be used for sampling, but again, that is a separate issue from what I am asking about.Charles Jackel started the topic Fried Doughnuts Made At Home in the forum Pies & Pastries 7 years, 3 months ago
Three Questions:
1. Are FRIED doughnuts considered a bread or pastry?
2. Are FRIED doughnuts considered a non-hazardous baked good?
3. Are FRIED doughnuts allowed to be sold as a cottage food at Illinois Farmers Markets?
Thanks,

The Illinois Cottage Food Law is ambiguous about WHEN cottage food must be packaged and labeled.
I would like to SELL my bagels at the farmers markets similar to a bakery, so customers can select their own
variety of bagels. Currently, I pre-bag the bagels…[Read more]Charles Jackel joined the group Packaging & Labeling 7 years, 3 months ago
