Hi, I am looking into shipping peanut brittle and found that shipping charges to be quite expensive (almost more than the product itself. lol) via USPS priority service. If you ship your product, what method do you use? do you like it? Any receommedations? Thank you.

Hey everyone! Any of you sell cupcakes? If so, where are you purchasing your cupcake boxes from? I’m looking for a non-Amazon alternative for supplies.

It depends on what state you live in. 18 states allow in-state shipping. Most of the people selling homemade food on Etsy are doing so illegally.

This site is so helpful! How do you cool your cakes? Do you just let them naturally cool and then crumb coat them…or put them in the fridge first and then crumb coat? I usually put it in the fridge After I crumb coat. I worry about the cooling off and then warming up to room temp if that causes air pockets and then the cake shifts. What’s the…[Read more]

The Harvard Law School Food Law and Policy Clinic is an excellent and comprehensive source of laws, policies, news, and all things related to cottage foods on a state by state basis, updated frequently and very useful to anyone in this industry.

I moved here from CA and helped contribute to the MEHKO Law on C.O.O.K Alliance Policy Committee and would like others who are interested to assist me in being an advocate in NC during the upcoming legislative session to help enact similar legislation here (without the restriction of having individual counties to opt-in) I am also involved in the…[Read more]

I’ve shipped my fudge and I do use USPS flat rate boxes. I don’t do this as part of my business, since CA doesn’t allow shipping, so my experience is limited and I haven’t tried to optimize the process much. However, I think it’s probably the ideal solution for me since my fudge is heavy and is also a fairly high-value item. Your brittle is so…[Read more]
