Hi! I recently started my cookie business and signed up for a TPT. I went onto my states tax website and it shows me classified as retail 027, use tax 029, and retail sales for home consumption 062. Does that sounds familiar for anyone else?

She’s been to my work a few times selling smaller items such as cookies, peanut butter balls, fudge, etc. When she comes to my work she typically sells between…[Read more]

Yes, there are many states that allow a cottage food business to use a commercial kitchen. I don’t have an easy way to show states that allow it, but here is a list of the states that DON’T allow a cottage food business to use a commercial kitchen: https://forrager.com/laws/?limitations=commercial-kitchen-prohibited
All of the other states do allow it.
