You don’t need a license from the ag dept. You may need a business license, depending on where you live.

Yes, it is beyond the cottage food law, so there is no way to do that kind of business from home. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

How much does the Cottage Food license cost in unincorporated Volusia County? I can’t find that information anywhere!

This is not a cottage food business since you are not preparing the food. I believe you’d just need to get a seller’s permit or something, and I think the health dept issues them.

You could attach a tag or you could have the ingredients separate. The most important thing is that all the info is attached in some way.

Yes you can advertise online — you just can’t sell online.

You can’t do this from home — you would have to get a commercial license: http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

As a cottage food, if I have a long term customer, what happens if she buys from me and then turns around and sells in her coffee shop without my knowledge?

Sorry, it’s not possible. You must use a commercial kitchen. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

Many states would allow this, but in Florida, you can only handle and package your items in your home kitchen.

I would like to expand my baking passion and start selling my home made goods to coffee shops, restaurants, etc. for resale. What steps do I need to take? Is it possible to obtain a license and continue to use my kitchen?

Susy, that’s all correct as far as I know. I haven’t heard anything different.
