Hello!
I’ve been interested in starting a cottage food business for a while but am not quite sure if my product would qualify.

This is an old post, but in case anyone else is wondering… it looks like Oregon requires you to have a domestic kitchen license (not a cottage industry license) to sell donuts. https://forrager.com/law/oregon-domestic-kitchen/ Check out ‘laws’ tab on this website to explore what is allowed under each type of license in Oregon. The bill, AB 1144, passed. CFOs can ship their products within CA starting in 2022.

Just want to chime in that having a seller’s permit will also allow you to purchase some items with tax exemption. Make sure to ask the places you purchase packagings and equipment from to see if they have something like that. A good place to keep costs down.
