Manish, over the past few years I have seen at least 30 businesses try to do exactly that, including ourselves. I do think that, once active, such a platform would be useful to the industry. Usually you can advertise your business in any way. The only state I know of that restricts advertising (by preventing online advertising) is Mississippi. However, many states disallow online selling.

The inclusion of meat, potatoes, or vegetables disqualifies you from being a CFO. I haven’t found that people are resistant to buying from a home-prepared item, but you don’t have to worry about it because you’re forced to use a commercial kitchen to stay legal.

No — samosas are not allowed in Florida. You will need to use a commercial kitchen to produce them. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

If you’ve remove it from its package, I don’t think you can even sell commercially-prepared dry pasta.

Very true! Since I do not plan on taking out a loan on this business and do not have the time to pour my life into it, I’m focused on making the first 15 sales. Slow and steady. I’m not a control freak, but as a one-woman show, I am R and D, Packaging, Accounting, Marketing and the Test Kitchen all in one! Luckily, in California we do have a high sales limit, which is nice.
