I’m not sure if the health dept has taken an official stance on that. I could see it going either way… either they allow it because it’s nonperishable, or they don’t because it’s alcohol-based. If you learn more after contacting them, I’d love to know the answer!

Just trying to do my research on a couple things:
1). Can an individual sell various flavored extracts at local farmers markets?
2). If so, what is required by law to be able to do so?Any help in pointing me the right direction would be awesome.
Thanks.Aaron Byram joined the group Colorado 1 year, 10 months ago

Correct, you cannot sell online as a CFO. To sell online, you need to go the commercial route. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial

Since La Plata County isn’t listed under Colorado, my guess is that you can take the general one for the “State of Colorado”, though you should confirm with your health dept.

Thanks Wendy. I believe the most recent amendment won’t go into effect until August 4th. Where did you see the restriction for LLCs?

Sarah, this would probably be fine as long as you are producing the food yourself and selling the items yourself. The “retail store” prohibition is referring to indirect sales being disallowed. Also, commercial food establishments probably cannot sell homemade food, so installing a commercial kitchen may actually prohibit you from using the…[Read more]

Baking at home and selling in your own shop? So I have the opportunity to rent a small shop and looked into installing a commercial kitchen space there but it looks like the space will be too small. I would still like to take advantage of this retail space, and the shop that was there before me would bake at home and sell in the store. I also have…[Read more]
