My mother is in the process of trying to start up a cheesecake and dessert business out of her kitchen here in Tennessee. It lists that you cannot sale goods over the internet under the Cottage Foods Law, but would it be alright to have the website for taking orders and presenting information? Also, we are very close to the Virginia and North Carolina border. How would the no interstate sales thing work with that? There is a huge possibility that people wanting to purchase from us will be either from Virginia or North Carolina, not just Tennessee.

There is no legal way to sell homemade cheesecakes in TN. Your mom needs a commercial license, which would also allow her to take online orders and do interstate sales. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial
