Hi thanks for a great site, we are looking to sell maple water, just pasteurised sap from maple trees. Is this covered under cottage law? We sold some as a trial at a grocery store last year and the health inspector just said to add a sell by date and address, we live on a farm o im not sure what we fall under.

It would probably be allowed under the cottage food law, but really, if your health inspector is okay with it with fewer requirements, then I’d say you’re good to go. They are the ones that regulate the laws, and their word about what’s allowed is final.
