Hi there,
A year and a half ago,
Drew got laid off from his job, and Kathleen left her job too because she was totally burned out by it.
And yet, they still had
a family of 5 kids to support (and homeschool).
After being jobless for a few months, they realized something:
They had spent all of their careers chasing someone else's dream. So Drew said to Kat: "How about we chase our own dream for a change? I don't want us to go back to jobs again.
Let's stay home and keep doing life together."
And they did.
They launched their cottage food bakery only 12 months ago, and they have already done over $55k in sales! And it just keeps growing. And thanks to
Texas' recent law change, they have been able to stay at home as they grow it.
But they have done even more than that! Drew was feeling limited and frustrated by Hotplate, and decided to build
Cottage CMS, which
already hosts 800+ cottage food business sites.
This is the second episode I've done on video, and
I encourage you to watch instead of just listen! As you will see, despite their rapid success, Kat and Drew are super down-to-earth and are extremely grateful for their growth.
They bet on themselves, and it's paying off!Watch Episode 165: Kathleen & Drew Meyer with Family KneadsForraging ahead,
