Hi there,
First off, congrats to Illinois, whose
new law is now in effect!
A few weeks ago,
I wrote: "
You can expect some significant changes coming to Forrager next year. But that's a topic for another newsletter."
And then last week, I talked all about resolutions and changes, but never discussed any of my own.
So here we are. Well, I know this much:
2025 is going to be a lot different for me.
Last year, my family made our long-term move to a new home in Auburn, CA. And perhaps more importantly (for Forrager's sake), last fall, both of my kids entered 5-days-a-week of school. Ray started kindergarten, and Sierra is now 4 and doing more preschool.
Basically, it means that
my stay-at-home dad duties are lessening, and I have more time to devote to Forrager.
So
this year, you can expect to see more happening with Forrager than has happened in a very long time.
So what are my plans this year? So far, this is what's on my mind:
- Continue what I've already been doing
- I plan to continue running the podcast and publishing law updates, like usual
- Show up more
- Create more video tutorials
- Start monthly group calls for CFO Pro members
- Improve law pages and the map page
- Update the mini course (it's 3 years old)
- Remove forums from the website
- I'll explain more in another email, but in business, it's always important to cut out things that are no longer working well, to make room for what will
I mean, those are my
plans, but they aren't my
goal.
My goal is to use my extra time to be of more service to cottage food entrepreneurs, and I think all the above will help.
But if you have any other ideas, let me know!
Forraging ahead,
David
P.S. If you were wondering more about the "monthly group calls" I mentioned above, the first one will be happening on January 22nd. It will be a group video call, and the plan is for it to be similar to a mastermind group. You can join the call by
becoming a member for $5/month.
