Hi there,
A few weeks ago,
I mentioned that
I'll start featuring some MEHKOs (micro-enterprise home kitchen operations, AKA micro-restaurants) on the podcast.
And this week, I brought
Lee Thomas on the show, who I think is the
perfect person to introduce the MEHKO movement.
Lee actually ran for mayor of San Leandro, CA last year, and he used his political connections and knowledge to
help adopt a MEHKO ordinance in his county.
Not only did he talk about
his own BBQ business (he was the first MEHKO in Alameda County), but he also shared some of the legal background behind making it all possible.
And perhaps most importantly, Lee's lifelong focus on serving others allowed him to highlight
why the MEHKO concept is essential for so many people.
And you won't want to miss hearing Lee talk about his
"car invoice" pricing model, which, considering the ever-changing cost of eggs (among other things), might actually be a beneficial strategy for bakers too!
Listen to Episode 82: Serve The People with Lee ThomasUntil next week,
David
P.S. Thanks to everyone who entered last week's conference giveaway! I'll be announcing the winners next week.
