Hi there,
Happy Thanksgiving week!
Hopefully you've settled down from Thanksgiving orders and have transitioned to focusing on the big day.
But either way,
I trust that you'll be spending plenty of time in the kitchen over the next few days, which sounds to me like
the perfect opportunity to listen to the latest episode of the podcast!
This week
I had Alecia on the podcast, who coincidentally is the niece of Carla Jones-Harris from Episode 78 (we had no idea about that connection when we invited Alecia onto the show)!
So apparently, cottage food entrepreneurship runs in the family. :)
Alecia might have set the record for
the fastest start of a cottage food business.
Here's what she said on the episode:
"I thought to myself, 'Maybe one day I'll start a bakery.' And
then I launched it the next day. I was thinking to myself,
'Why do I have to wait for one day? One day could be now.'"
But although Alecia did exactly the right thing by starting her business quickly, she still feels like she got caught in the perfectionist trap after starting, which slowed her growth.
But
now, she has consistent wholesale and custom orders, and is in the process of renting a commercial kitchen to take her business to the next level!
Enjoy the episode, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
