Hi there,
A couple weeks ago, I
shared that
Michelle Dukes doubted whether she was worthy of coming on the podcast.
And if you listened to her episode, you know that
her doubts were unfounded.
But
it's more common than you'd think. MANY (most?) of my guests feel very nervous and think that they won't do well.
Let's
consider my last 5 podcast guests (Episodes 106 - 110):
- 4 of them have followed me for years (10+ years for a couple of them)
- All 4 of them are big fans of the podcast
- None of them asked to be on the show
We had to find/ask them. I would have featured most of them years ago, if they had simply asked.
Let me tell you a secret:
there's nothing wrong with asking to be on the show! Some
people think there's some magic formula for getting featured on the show.
Nope.If you have a compelling cottage food journey that can fill an hour-long episode, you will be on the show. It is as simple as that.
But you might not think you're compelling enough. You probably don't think your story could fill an hour. There's a
very good chance you'll underestimate yourself.
So
stop doubting yourself, and let us determine those things instead.
It never hurts to ask!But even if we feel like you're not quite ready for the show yet, you'll at least be on our radar for the future.
And how do you ask? It's simple:
just send an email to my assistant, Faith, at [email protected] (or reply to this email, which will go to her)
I look forward to having you on the podcast someday!
Forraging ahead,
David
