Hi there,

I know my email a couple weeks ago was a bit of a cliffhanger. Here's that email, if you want to read it again.

In that email, I challenged two primary objections that you might have for hiring help:
  1. It's too hard to find someone who wants to work
  2. I can't afford to hire someone
Thanks to those who tried to guess how many job applications I received. I can't say anyone got close!

Within the first week of posting the job, I received 159 applications!

And of those, 73 applicants met the essential criteria I was looking for, including agreeing to my salary of $500/mo for full-time work.

Wait, $500/mo? Yes, you read that right. It's about $3/hr.

How is that possible? It's because I followed my mentor's advice, and I used onlinejobs.ph to hire someone from the Philippines.

This is probably about the point where you'll stop reading.

You might be saying, "I'm not comfortable hiring someone from overseas."

But here's the thing: I wasn't either. In fact, I initially had a slew of objections to this idea.

And that's why it's important to have a mentor who has gone before you. I trusted them, and I'm glad I did.

And now I'm asking you to trust me. Whatever objections you have, they're probably not true.

$500/mo is a good wage in most parts of the Philippines. Most Filipino VAs at this price point have college degrees and speak very good English. Generally speaking, Filipinos are very honest, loyal, and hardworking. There's good reason so many business owners hire help from the Philippines.

I know at least two things to be true: 1) You can likely afford $3/hr help, and 2) if you hired a Filipino VA, they'd do a great job.

But even still, there is one more huge objection that might hold you up. It goes something like, "How much can a virtual assistant really do for me from afar?"

This tripped me up big time. It's not because there weren't plenty of things I could outsource. It's because I'd gotten so used to relying on only myself, it was hard to even think about how to rely on others.

Trust me on this one: there are tons of things a virtual assistant can help you with. You just haven't thought of them yet.

If you have a successful business (or are starting to see success) and don't feel like you have enough time to keep everything in the air, then the only way to really grow is to start building a team.

And the easiest way to start building a team is to hire a virtual assistant. Even if it's just for a few hours per week.

Please let me know if you'd like me to go into more detail about how* I hired my virtual assistant.

Until next week,
David

* A good starting point is to watch some of John Jonas' videos. Again, the process is easier than you think.
