Hi there,
People keep asking me: "Is there going to be another cottage food conference?"
And now I can finally announce, the answer is "YES!"
You can save the dates on the calendar for
next spring: April 10th - 13th, 2023If you are new to my newsletter in the past year, let me quickly catch you up to speed:
Just over a year ago, Lisa Kivirist & John Ivanko hosted the first national cottage food conference (titled the
Home-based Food Entrepreneur Virtual National Conference). It was a huge success, with over 900 attendees!
Due to popular demand, Lisa & John are doing it again, and it will be in a similar format as last time. It will again be a virtual conference, spanning 4 days, with 1 keynote each day along with other sessions.
I will again give a keynote, along with Lisa Kivirist (
Episodes 5 &
50), Erica Smith Ewing (
Episode 6), and The Miracle Twins (first guests on
Episode 50).
As you might recall, tickets to the conference last year were SUPER affordable. I expect the ticket price to go up for this next conference, but Lisa & John are working hard to keep the cost very reasonable.
Do you know why the cost is so low? It's due to sponsorships and fundraising that Lisa & John are doing behind the scenes.
Do you know of any businesses that might like to support a conference like this? A lot of funding is still needed to bring everything together.
From what I've heard, Lisa & John were able to commit to another conference due to a generous donation made by
Castiron.
If you haven't heard of Castiron before, you will be hearing more about them next week! That's because they are now a sponsor of my podcast. You will
hear a little blurb about them at the beginning of the next episode.
It's always been my intent to eventually accept sponsorships for the show so that it can be supported financially. Mark Josephson, Castiron's founder/CEO (and former CEO of Bitly) reached out to me long ago, and we've been slowly working our way into this partnership. I appreciate his commitment to this community!
Keep an eye out in the coming months for more info about this conference, and how you can sign up for it!
Until next week,
David
P.S. Don't want to wait nearly a year to attend your first cottage food conference? You can still
buy a post-conference ticket to last year's conference, which includes all 32 taped segments of the conference.
