Hi there,
It used to be easy to grow a following on Instagram. All you had to do was post some pretty pictures, and boom -- you had followers.
Not anymore. Now Instagram is saturated. So is Facebook, and even TikTok.
But
you know what's not saturated yet? YouTube Shorts.I've never thought YouTube would be good for hyper-local businesses like cottage food bakeries, but
I was wrong.
YouTube Shorts is targeting local viewers, which means that you can use it too!
You might recall Tanya talking briefly about this on
Episode 150, but in
this week's episode, she shares much more about
how to use YouTube to boost your cottage food business.
Tanya is the
second guest* I've had on the podcast that has over 100k subscribers on YouTube -- something she accomplished in only a year and a half!
Also, Tanya and Mike have
one of the most amazing cottage food stories ever -- their cottage food bakery allowed Tanya to quit 3 part-time jobs and saved them from financial desperation.
And make sure you listen until the end to
hear which $2 photography prop Tanya says is essential. She has a degree in photography and owns fancy equipment, but doesn't even use it. It's fascinating!
Good stuff all around. Listen in!
Listen to Episode 156: Tanya & Mike Clowers with South Street CookiesForraging ahead,
David

Liz Marek has well over 100k YT subs, but Liz is famous and has her own Wikipedia page. Suffice it to say --
it's insanely hard to reach 100k YT subs!
