Hi there,

Alright, after a couple podcast episodes that deviated from the norm (Episodes 50 & 51), we're back on track this week with another interview with a cottage food business!

You're definitely going to enjoy Amie & Jamie's episode. Just by listening to them, you can tell that they have a lot of fun in their lives, and they infuse fun into all aspects of their donut business.

In fact, "spreading joy" is literally their mission! They've been through some challenging times, but their business has carried them through. "Donuts saved my life", says Jamie half-jokingly.

Amie & Jamie also have a great startup story. They actually thought they were going to run a cafe, but the pandemic had other plans for them.

It's no secret that I'm not a big fan of business plans. You've probably heard me say this before: "Your business will take you places that you never dreamed of."

Amie & Jamie are a classic example of this. Their current business looks almost nothing like their initial vision, but that turned out to be a good thing for them!

If you recall from my last episode (Episode 51), I shared the top 8 traits that I've seen in successful cottage food entrepreneurs. Together, Amie & Jamie leverage all 8 of those traits!

The last (and only) time I had a donut business on the show was Episode 21, but in that case, Melvin didn't stay home-based for long. So I appreciated hearing from Amie & Jamie about what it's like to run a successful donut business from home.

Until next week,
