If you're like me, you might be busier than ever right now, and you might be tempted to put your business on hold until things settle down next year. Hi there,

Wow, December is already here! Can you believe it?

If you're like me, this time of year means that you're busier than ever with things like decorating, shopping, cooking, and of course, lots of family time.

So as you're making lists and checking them twice, you might be tempted to put your business on hold until things settle down next year.

BUT that's a big mistake! December is likely the best month* to grow your cottage food business, and it's pretty easy to do!

People have money burning in their pockets at this time of year, and they're looking for ways to spend it.

The trick is to use the holidays to create a deadline for your customers. It's pretty simple: if you're not giving your customers a deadline, you're leaving money on the table!

So how do we do this? I've laid it all out in my lesson about running a Giveaway Launch.

If you haven't seen it (or even if you have), you're going to want to check that out! I walk you through the whole process, step-by-step.

The difference is that if you already have an existing business (and preferably customers' email addresses), you can skip the first half of the Giveaway Launch (the giving away part).

You'll just jump to the good stuff! (the making money part)

For instance, although I'm personally busier than ever (two young kids, Forrager, etc), I'm still planning to run a launch to sell my fudge this month.

Briefly, for me, it will look like this:
  1. Announce that I'm opening up orders for one week only (with a specific deadline to order by)
  2. Wait for the orders (and money) to roll in
  3. After the deadline, go shopping for the ingredients I need
  4. Make and fulfill the orders
  5. Enjoy the rest of the month with my family
Again, this month is a golden opportunity, and I hope you use a launch to grow your business!

And as always, if you have any questions, please send them my way!

Until next week,
David

* Depending on your type of cottage food business, you might naturally be inundated with orders this month (are hot cocoa bombs a thing again this year?). In which case, that's awesome! And in which case, I didn't write this email for you. :)

P.S. I recently increased the price of my CFO Pro membership to $147. However, because you're subscribed to my emails, you can still buy a lifetime membership at the former price ($97) until December 31st. To get the discount, click here.
