Hi,
I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve sent you a cottage food update!
It seems like every time I lapse, I can explain it with some major event in my life. This time is no different...
Two months ago, Tara and I had a baby boy, and we are thrilled! His name is Ray.
If you want to see photos of him,
check out this recent blog post where I compare Ray to my business.
As my businesses evolve, so do my reasons for running them. Ray is now my compass... I'm building my businesses for him.
I had an amazing dad who was super involved in my life. But he worked his butt off to do it.
Sometimes he left at 4am and got back home at 9pm. On many weekdays, I didn’t see him.
As Ray grows up, I’d like to control my own schedule, not have someone else set it for me. That’s why I continue to plant seeds in my own businesses, even though
they are still fairly small.
Eventually, I hope the trees get big enough to provide shade (freedom, flexibility, time, money) for our family.
And if you've started (or are starting) a cottage food business, I hope you can create that kind of freedom too. That's why I love watching small businesses thrive!
Well I guess this wasn’t a cottage food update after all! More like a baby update. But I did want to let you know what’s been keeping me (very) busy as of late.
David
P.S. Look out for a cottage food update next week. There’s plenty to catch up on.
