Hi there,
There are striking
similarities between this week's guest (Rita) and my last guest (Michelle): both started their cottage food bakeries 16+ years ago, both have gone commercial to take on large wholesale accounts, and both have faced truly humbling times in their journeys.
But
their stories are completely different! And one part of Rita's episode greatly deviates from the norm. At one point,
she spoke for almost 13 minutes without stopping. Now to be clear, Rita is not the first guest to do this. In fact, I've had guests that talked for much longer without interruption.
But
when a guest goes on a monologue, I will always edit it down or add in a question or two during the editing process in order to break it up and keep the interview flowing.
But not this time. Rita got on a roll and the entire 12+ minutes of her monologue is captivating. It would have been a disservice to break it up, and if there aren't tears in your eyes by the end of it, well, I guess you're stronger than I am.
And the rest of the episode is great too!
Rarely do I have a guest that can talk with such power and conviction. There are multiple points of this interview where Rita will have you nodding your head in complete agreement.
I loved my conversation with Rita, and you will too!
