Baked Goods – Breads, Muffins, Cookies

Cottage Food Product

European style artisan breads made with ferments and starters, simple, tasty fresh muffins without the artificial flavors, fillers or preservatives, and hand-crafted cookies made with real organic butter, organic sugar and not much else — these are among the many products we like to share, from our kitchen to yours.

Quality can’t be compromised. The best products start with the best ingredients. You know, the ones you can pronounce. We use as many organic, local or sustainably-sourced ingredients as possible.  That often means organic butter from Organic Valley Family of Farms, Fair Trade certified and organic cocoa and sugar, and free range, farm-fresh eggs from area Soil Sisters farmer friends. Check out the items, like our Iced Pumpkin Cookies or chocolate chip pumpkin muffins, made with our pumpkins, grown organically in our growing fields at Inn Serendipity Farm and B&B. Some of our recipes are from our Farmstead Chef cookbook. Other recipes are based on those passed down in our family through generations. The Latvian ones are perfected by Lisa’s mother, Aelita Kivirist.

And in case you’re wondering why, it’s one special bar treat. While this pastry is called “cake” in Latvian circles, it’s really a shortbread bar cookie with fruity filling and frosting on top. It’s said that this treat was first created for and named after a Russian czar who visited Latvia in the early 1800s. You’ll find this cookie on Baltic tables for holidays, weddings and special occasions, like Christmas.PRODUCT DETAILS: CANNED FOOD PRODUCTSPucker Ups Dill PicklesTry to keep a straight face crunching on  these!
