I live in California and I believed dry spices are acceptable under the cottage law? Or is dry spices an exemption to getting the permit? I’m basically buying dry spices from a company and repackaging it. Furthermore, I read that I cannot ship via USPS, FedEX, etc., however, I am seeing some places (homes) are mailing out spices. I’m a little confused if I need to register if I’m doing dry spices and getting it shipped nationwide. Thanks!

You can do dry spices under the cottage food law and you can’t ship them. If you want to ship, you need to use a commercial kitchen. http://forrager.com/faq/#commercial
