I have done cakes and such out of my home for friends and family. I recently came across a cotton candy machine, I know if I sell packaged cotton candy with my labels it still falls under the cottage laws…. but a friend of mine asked if I could bring the machine to her child’s bday party. I thought that may be a fun thing to start doing regularly, if I make the candy on site at school fundraisers or bday parties will I still fall under a cottage business or will I have to get a business license? I have left several messages at my State DHS but no one seems to be able to answer my question…
